The art for Millenium Moomin mug was taken from Swedish Christmas calendar, that Tove Jansson made for Swedish TV. The TV-series was called “Mumindalen” which means Moominvalley in English. Other sources were: a picture book “Who will comfort Toffle?”, Christmas calendar painting from 1973 and Moomin under Sail comic.
Millenium Moomin mug has a stamp “Millenium 2000” with the usual Arabia Finland crown and painting Moomin on the bottom. It was the first mug with this additional special text.

Did you know?
The original artwork didn’t have Little my on it. Tove Slotte replaced Nibling with Little My, who is posing the same way as Nibling was in the original picture.
