This Purple Moomin mug resembles the older “Lila Snorkmaiden mug“. Snorkmaiden is actually even wearing the same bikini! The difference being that this time she is rocking it with confidence.
On the other side of the mug she has a sunbrella and a basket. Her quote inside the mug is: “Come on to the beach, Moomin.”
Did you know that Irina Viippola designed Mainio shaped mugs quite recently? Arabia launched Mainio collection in 2018. Compared to Teema mugs, which were created in 1952 by Kaj Frank.
POP Moomin Mugs
These mugs hold 0.3 liters, the same capacity as Arabia’s classic Teema-shaped Moomin mugs.
However, unlike the traditional Moomin mugs, they feature a different material and a distinct design. These mugs belong to the Mainio collection, created by designer Irina Viippola.
The first four mugs from this series were launched in Japan in 2025.
