Arabia Moomin mug Sea Breeze is the Moomin’s Day mug of 2023.
The mug shares its illustration with the more valuable Platinum version of the mug. The only difference on its artwork is the platinum plated horseshoe and oar. Both mugs are limited edition, 5 000 pieces of the Platinum versions were made. However, Arabia hasn’t disclosed how many pieces of this version were manufactured.
Did you know that this is the 100th Moomin mug designed by Tove Slotte? It was sold in a gift box that also got its illustration from „Moominpappa at Sea“ novel, just like the mug itself.
What is Moomin’s Day?
Moomin’s Day is Tove Jansson’s birthday. It is celebrated on 9th of August. Arabia launched the first „Moomin’s Day mug“ in 2018.
Sea Breeze is the 3rd special mug released to celebrate the Moomins and Tove. Well it is 3rd or 4th depending on whether you count in Tove’s Jubilee special mug, which was launched on her 100th birthday.
