Tove Jansson was originally using the artwork seen on Mug Dark Yellow on her novels Moominsummer Madness and Moominland Midwinter.
Little my can be seen swimming and spraying water at Hattifatteners on the mug’s illustration. I am not sure how good of an idea that is, you might get an electric shock! Tooticky and Moomintroll seem to be aware of that.
Moberg’s test versions
Camilla Moberg was testing different colors, before deciding to go with dark yellow. These test versions are extremely rare and valuable. Test sample colored mug can be worth thousands of euros.
