Moomin mug Opera

Opera Moomin mug was announced during Moomin 80th Anniversary year, which also happened to be Japanese Scope’s 25th anniversary. This mug was only sold in Japan in collaboration with them.

The idea for the mug’s design tracks back all the way until 2012, when Moomin Opera poster from 1974 sparked the inspiration for the design. Back then Tove Jansson worked for the Finnish National Opera. The Moomin opera was directed by Heikki Värtsi. The show was popular among children and it was played 34 times.

This black and yellow Moomin mug was launched with 2 small plates, one of which has Little My on it and the other one starring Moomintroll.
